EmbedVideo: YouTube/Google Video plugin for WLW
Posted by Cynthia August 25, 2006
EmbedVideo is a plugin which generates the HTML code needed to embed a YouTube or Google Video video into your Windows Live Writer driven post.
Use is very simple. Click the Insert Video Clip… entry in the Insert menu on the sidebar or the Insert menu dropdown. Select whether you’re going to use YouTube or Google Video and enter the clip ID. You find the clip ID “hidden”, or embedded, in the URL of the video you were watching.
Hitting preview calls up the relevant page in your browser.
The process definitely is a bit faster, smoother and, yes, more up to the level of the Windows Live Writer experience than switching to HTML code view, pasting the embed code as provided by either YouTube or Google Video, and switching back to Web Layout.

greetings
Thanks for the heads-up, Indian. I verified your report and am indeed unable to get Spaces to accept the HTML code. It simply doesn’t show up.
I don’t believe there’s anything I can do about supporting MSN Spaces at the moment. AFAIK, the issue lies with Spaces rather than the plugin. If anyone knows a way to embed video from YouTube of Google Video on a Spaces page, then please leave a comment on my blog and I’ll look at incorporating it into the plugin.
Thanks Marc for the fast reply!
Is it possible to modify the plugin to support .FLV videos as well. But it’s still a Great app.

How can I download this Youtube plugin for WLW ?
Thanks
Hey guys,
I have an iMac G5 running tiger 10.4.7 and I an having a wierd problem. Whenever I go to a site that has an embedded youtube, flash or some kind of video, there is no sound. If it a quicktime file there is no problem. There is not sound no matter what broswer I use, firefox, camino, safari, or shiira. And keep in mind that about a week ago I was not having this issue.
Help Would be awesome
Thanks!
Bad link to download.
I can’t understand why WLW has the plugin, but doesn’t work in Spaces. What’s the use?
