Insert Email Link
Inserting a clickable link that will fire up your site visitor’s default email program or service can be quite a bit of HTML typing. Especially if you want to add a subject line or even the body of the email.
Insert Email Link, or under its full name Insert Email to: Windows Live Writer plugin, handles all this for you.
Once installed, simply hit the Insert Email to:… option from the insert menu dropdown and/or sidebar.
In the screen that follows the only field that is obligatory is the one where you enter your email address. The author has made that brilliantly clear by adding a flashing warning icon next to the field. Draws your attention immediately.
The other fields let you enter the text you want to create the link with, the email subject and the email body.
There’s even a preview option which shows you the resulting HTML as it will be entered in your post.
The resulting HTML is a straightforward mail to: link. Your email address is not obfuscated in any way so be sure to use a throwaway address; posting your email address on the web is sure to get you some spam.
Insert Email Link is another excellent plugin that makes Windows Live Writer both complete and insanely easy to use.
